The potty diaries – November 30, 2009

Christopher goes potty on the toilet several times daily. This is nothing new for him. What is new: we bought some new chonies (aka underwear), though, to supplement the three pair he previously had. The goal: wear chonies all day even with the threat of accidents. Results: Christopher wore chonies half-day yesterday with no accidents. …

Our little eaters

We are quite fortunate. Both boys love to eat. At 8-months, we are beginning to wonder whether Matteo still wants formula. Feeding him a bottle has been quite a chore lately. Could just be teething…how about a biscuit?  Pizza, anyone?

Adoption finalization – the party

We had a few folks over to our house on Friday afternoon to celebrate Matteo’s adoption finalization. Though we scheduled the get together at 3 pm, during the middle of a workday, we were pleased with the turnout with one exception. Grandma Kathi and great-grandma Dot were no shows. Grandma, who is still nursing her …

September 18, 2009

I woke up this morning at 5 a.m. I don’t know if it was the excitement of the day, or the nagging suspicion that something wasn’t right. As I lay in bed, I began running the events through my head: we have our paperwork, we have a good idea of what we are wearing, we …

Within a couple of weeks we should hear from the social worker assigned to our adoption. We will need to complete an updated homestudy that will be filed with the state of California. This process …

We are on Google, Yahoo and MSN!

We searched a few keywords and found that our website comes up on the first page, and sometimes second page, of the search results. This is a HUGE upside for us; yet, there is one downside. The keywords must be specific. For instance, you will not find us by only searching for adoption, open adoption, …

Adoption progress

We are nearly ready to submit our paperwork to our adoption agency, Adoption Connection. Once we submit the paperwork, we will be contacted to schedule our homestudy visit. We only need to schedule one visit. Our homestudy will be updated based on this visit and we will be OFFICIALLY ready to go. In the meantime, …
