The other day a couple of our friends, Rainey (pronounced Rene) and Brad, came over for a visit. We had not seen Brad since Matteo was a newborn, so we had lots to catch up on on both sides. As we visited, we had music on in the background. In this moment, Whitney Houston is [...]
A trip to the Oakland Zoo
We visited the zoo today. Though we didn’t get a chance to see all of the usual suspects, we did stop by the adjacent amusement park to get in a few rides.
The next greatest tennis player
He loves sports. This morning he was carrying his football around the house, occasionally kicking it saying, “soccer”. On Tuesday, Mike brought the boys to my Tae Kwon Do studio to watch me practice. From the floor, we could hear Christopher saying, “my turn, daddy.” We may have to limit the number of sports he [...]
Six months
Today Matteo turns six months. We cannot believe that six months have passed so quickly, and yet it seems like such a long time ago. He is babbling quite a bit these days. He drools like a Saint Bernard – he’s been doing this since he was two-months old. Poor thing. We wonder when those [...]
Finally nap time returns
On Monday, we put Christopher into his new room with his new big-boy bed. Since then, naps have been non-existent. We began to think that nap time was lost. Then it dawned on us. Christopher’s old room had black-out drapes. That’s it. We purchased new drapes for his new room. Today, just before nap time, [...]
Sleeping in a big-boy bed
Or not. When we brought Matteo home from the hospital back in March, we had little time to prepare. We placed his crib in our guest room, a room that was reserved for Christopher should he get a sibling and/or was big enough to climb out of his crib. Well, Matteo has been home for [...]
He’s getting so big
Matteo sat in the high chair today to eat breakfast, at least for a couple of bites. To finish, I had to place bobblehead back in the car seat. But first, check out Christopher’s hair.
Reliving my childhood
The thing about having kids is that you get to relive your childhood vicariously through them…or through yourself! I don’t know who was more excited about playing trains today: Christopher or me. Matteo looks on as I prepare the track for Christopher.
The potty diaries – September 1, 2009
We have been going potty regularly for weeks. I asked Christopher during one of our diaper changes if he wanted to wear “chonies”. He excitedly responded, “yes, like daddy.” I put a pair of Batman underwear on and explained that he had to tell me each time he had to go potty. We don’t want [...]
The date is almost here!
Adoption Connection notified us last week that our post-placement paperwork was complete. They were submitting the final report to the court. Our attorney, Marc Gradstein, notified us this morning that we have a court date in less than three weeks. Wow!
