When Matteo first came home, Christopher’s reaction was “brother” and “out!” In just a few weeks following that event, Christopher stopped saying “out” and started saying “atteo.” We were pleased.
Today, Matteo finally received acceptance. Christopher and Sebastian finally made the gesture we have been waiting to see.
During our Peet’s visit this morning, Christopher insisted on feeding Matteo, “self,” as he said. I let him do it himself. Christopher was beaming with excitement. In short order, he leaned in and kissed Matteo and said, “my brother.” I wanted to cry, but I was at Peet’s. Instead, I did what any parent would do. I had him pose for a pic with his Matteo.

My brother
We left Peet’s and headed out to run errands, which included go to our new house to take some photos. While Christopher and I were eating lunch, Sebastian decided to make his grand gesture. Don’t worry, I had my eye on him the whole time…

Okay, so you’re not leaving.
All is right with the World. At least in our World…
Oh, here is another recent one of Matteo.

Hi

Oh my goodness, those photos are too cute! Matteo is absolutely adorable!
Ditto… what a cutie.. especially that 3rd picture! He’s becoming a kid!
sweet story.
the cat pic makes me laugh as our cat would rather get a bath than be in the same room with the twins. i’m beginning to wonder if that will ever change.
That is fantastic.
Mia kissed my belly last night and said, “Brother, I love you.” I did shed a tear and Rob was dying that we didn’t have the video camera nearby. I’m hoping she’ll feel the same way when her new brother finally arrives.
Matteo is starting to look like a little boy; we are excited to see how he continues to change.
Of our two cats, Sebastian is the friendliest. He likes attention from anyone. Bailey, on the other hand, only comes out when both boys have gone to bed or are otherwise distracted.
Mara: I love that story, but don’t be surprised if/when Mia shows some sign of resentment when she realizes that your belly turns into a living, breathing thing who takes attention away from her. Keep us posted.
How Sweet!!!
awww…too cute!
On a totally unrelated note..back to your potty training adventures…what kind of seat / stool is that? We are preparing for potty training and i think I’d like to use the stool contraption! She LOVES climbing, so I am hoping the allure of climbing onto the potty will help!
What a wonderful blog, thank you. Made me tear up
