Follow-up to another email

In October, we shared with you that we received an email from our agency regarding a birth mother who was interested in learning more about us. As we told you then, when we got back to our agency later that day, we were told that the birth mother had decided to pursue another family.

On November 4th, we received a call from the agency. The social worker informed us that the birth mother’s choice to pursue another family – there were actually two families that she had in mind – had not matched. We were not given any reason, which left us with even more questions. Was she looking for something specific? Was the adoptive family looking for something specific? Were there any issues that were not readily known by our agency? As our heads were spinning with excitement and anxiety, we agreed to have our birth mother letter presented.

We have not heard anything new.

    OK Mike/Michael:
Reading your most recent post was like reading our experience. It will come. We had soooo many ups and downs, close calls, unexplained rejections…
You guys will get chosen. It may take longer, but that’s only because you have not found your son or daugther. You will.
It happened for us very last minute. After many phone calls of a “possible placement situation”…we recevied our call on Christmas eve 2007, and on Christmas day we brought home our son (two days old..born dec 23). He is 11 months today.
    It will happen.
Our family is sending you warm, happy vibes so your son or daugther will find you soon.
    Hang in there.

  2. Thanks, Paul, for the words of encouragement.
